Also, the dev team is very responsive and updates are frequent unlike Reeder where the Dev talks to nobody and updates are very slow. Overall, it’s an app I don’t see many people talking about and it’s very overlooked.

It has so many features that I could write a full article on it. It also has an amazing function that allows you to receive notifications when specific feeds that you choose are updated.
Example in News Explorer you can subscribe to YouTube channels and Twitter pages or hashtags right in the feed search, it also supports podcasts if that’s your thing. News Explorer gave me everything I was looking for an more. Fiery Feeds is amazing and frankly the only reason I didn’t go with it is because it doesn’t allow feed management which is a real bummer. Newsify is great, but the UI is clunky and design wise it just feels left behind. It falls short because it only allows you to sync RSS Feeds to that one device and these don’t carry over to your other iOS devices. Reeder 4 is beautiful the UI is very sleek and it supports shortcuts. Only three really checked all the boxes those being: News Explorer, Newsify and Fiery Feeds. My needs shifted, I was looking for an RSS Reader that was 1) Not reliant on Feedly or an outside subscription service and used iCloud to sync and manage feeds, 2) Optimized for iPad, iPhone and Mac, 3) Had multiple options for Full text parsing, 4) Allowed me to have granular control over feed management.Īfter months of trying multiple services, Reeder 4, Fiery Feeds, Unread, Newsify, Lire, etc. I have literally used every RSS app in the App Store and I used Feedly from the day it was lunched till about 3 months ago.
